Barbara, Jonni, and Judy are all members of the Santa Monica Chorus, located in Santa Monica, CA. Santa Monica Chorus is the current Mid-Size Champion Chorus and 2nd place medalists overall. Leah sings with the Celebrity City Chorus in Las Vegas, NV. Celebrity City Chorus is the current Chorus Champions! We are part of Region 11 of Sweet Adelines International. Region 11 includes choruses from Southern California and Nevada. Sweet Adelines International is a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. The Santa Monica and Celebrity City Choruses are very active. We are constantly refining our sound, expanding our repertoire, recruiting new members, and planning for competitions. The Santa Monica membership consists of approximately 40 women, and Celebrity City has about 75 women of different musical backgrounds. Our progress requires commitment from our members, who already have busy professional and family lives! Yet we have found that our choruses not only entertain people – they also provide a getaway for our members, a chance to socialize with other musical women.
We rely on our experienced directors, Laura Pallas in Santa Monica, and Jim Halvorson in Las Vegas, and our leadership teams to guide our singing to new levels of excellence. These individuals plan exciting packages and train and encourage us through every challenge. They have the remarkable ability to lead performers of different musical backgrounds. We are always learning new things from them!
